Tuesday Tip: Color correction with no peroxide

Occasionally a color may be a little too dark when it finishes processing.

Here’s a quick fix to get it up to one level lighter without using peroxide.

This only works the day you do the service and before the hair is dried.

  • Mix XL-Powder with warm water. At the sink quickly apply it to all of the hair.
  • Keep an eye on it.
  • Depending upon the depth of the color, it will take as little as 3 minutes or as long as 20 minutes to lighten the hair one level.

This is a good technique to use when you have highlights in the hair and you only do a touch-up on the new growth. Sometimes the color bleeds onto the highlights when shampooing. This technique will bring the highlights “back to life”.
