The content of each class is flexible. However, the main theme will always be advanced color formulation. I’m a great believer in small alterations to formulas to individualize the color for each client. When you individualize the formula for the client’s hair, skin and eyes she cannot get the same results at another salon even if they use the same product unless you give them the formula.
An alteration might be the addition of lightening cream to effect lightness or it could be the addition of a concentrate to enhance the final color or it could be mixing tones for similar yet different results.
Did you know that there are 4 different ways to formulate ash shades and each has a specific function? With slight changes to a formula you can create warm ash, soft ash, strong ash and smokey ash tones.
There will always be lots of visuals, swatches, charts, graphs and sometimes models. I’ll give formulas for pastels, formulas for beige tones, formulas for 25 different reds and formulas for chocolate and tobacco browns.
